'Ohi'a lehua Lei Mural

Working with an Interior Architect, I was asked to propose a mural design using Tiki Tiles’ Maui tile. The color palette, influenced by the 'Ohi'a lehua flower, limits the mural to nine colors. I proposed a lei made of this flower, and because the wall spanned roughly 55’ in length and 30’ in width, the flower Lei would have been visible to all occupants. The mural would be placed in a restaurant on Kona, Hawai'i, so by using this island’s endangered flower as the main focus of the lei, we brought this plant into the space.

Learning Space

I was tasked with proposing graphic art for an interior learning space located on Kapālama Heights. I took inspiration from mauka and makai, and the traditional practices that were used to care for the land and sea. The graphic proposals include art depicting traditional net fishing, kalo harvesting, voyaging, and traditional pattern making.

Office Refresh

During an interior office refresh, I worked alongside an Interior Designer to develop the concept for a renovation proposal. I included several graphic art pieces for their office walls that were on theme with the concept and our client’s (engineering office) ethos.
